Abstract

325,711. Horsman, W. E. March 6, 1929. Road-surface boxes.- A gulley box adapted to be built into the line of the kerbing has a front opening 2, a grid 4 supported on projections 5 and a removable lid 6 provided with projections 7 engaging recesses 8 and with a lock 11. A slot 15 in the lid is so arranged that a key having a projection thereon can only be removed when the lid is locked, and that the key may be used to remove the lid. The opening 2 has a flange 3 against which a bar 18 may be placed, when it is desired to close the opening wholly or in part.
