180,436. Fedden, A. H. R., and Bristol Aeroplane Co., Ltd. Feb. 23, 1921. Epicyclic gearing. - Valve gear for internalcombustion engines, comprises a tappet-actuating cam drum 19 driven from the crank shaft 11, through epicyclic reducing gearing. A double gear 15 loose upon an eccentric 13 secured to the shaft 11 has external teeth 16 meshing with an internal ring 12 upon the crank case 10, and internal teeth 17 meshing with a gear ring 18 concentric with the shaft 11 and secured to the drum 19. The cams 21, 22 reciprocate the tappets 23, 24.
