Dust-excluding casings and gear-boxes.- Comprises a turbine locomotive having gearing between the turbine and the driving axles, in which all the toothed gearing is enclosed in a casing located between the side girders of the locomotive frame. The turbine shaft C drives the axles through toothed gearing c<1>-D, E-G, a crank-shaft H, and coupling rods J. The turbine casing a<1> is made part of the gear casing A which is formed with guides a<2> to slide upon the frame members B, and is located in position by screws. In a modification, two turbines are employed driving the central pinion E through two separate trains of gearing such as c<1>-D.
