Breech actions, sliding breech-block; magazines.-Consists (a) in mounting the firing and safety mechanism of an automatic rifle on plates integral with the magazine and (b) in means for mounting a tubular magazine in the gun. In the construction shown, the parts of the firing. mechanism and the safety device are mounted on the three plates 2, 3, 24 which are integral with the tubular magazine 1. The magazine is secured at the front by a bolt 6 which is suspended from a block 4 attached to the barrel and passes through a lug 7 on the magazine. At the rear the magazine is secured by a detachable bracket 13, Fig. 4, fitting in a slot in the breechbody 12 and having a depending lug 10 fitting between the side plates 3, 24 and secured by a cross-pin. The breech-body 12 is formed integral with the barrel.
