Abstract
160,771. Staatliche Industriewerke. March 20, 1920, [Convention date]. Breech actions, sliding breech-block; siglhts.- Relates to automatic pistols of the kind in which the barrel is pivoted to the breech-frame, and consists (a) in means for locking the barrel and its extension to the breech-frame, (b) in means for mounting and guiding the breech-block, and (c) in forming the backsight on a part of the breech-frame. The Specification also describes an ejector, and a single spring for controlling the sear and magazine catch. In the construction shown, the barrel 2, with its extension which forms the receiver, is pivoted at the front 3 to the frame 1. At the rear, the barrel extension fits over an upstanding tenon 4 on the breechframe, the tenon being formed with a notch 5 adapted to be engaged by a rotary half-round pin 6 mounted in the barrel extension. The tenon 4 extends through the top of the barrel extension and forms the backsight. Mounted in the barrel extension is a sliding block 15 acted on by the return spring 14 and having a stud 15<1> fitting into a hole in the breech-block 13. The continual spring pressure exerted by the stud 15<1> is sufficient to connect the breech-block to the barrel extension so that, when the barrel is turned up, as shown in Fig. 1, the breech-block is lifted with it. The breech-block is formed with two side pieces extending outside the barrel extension and with two rearwardly-extending bars 17 embracing the tenon 4 on the frame. The ejector is a sliding rod 19 mounted in the breechblock 13 and adapted to be actuated by striking the rear part of the barrel extension. The sear 9 and magazine catch 20 are controlled by a single spring 10.
