Abstract

230,001. Bethlehem Steel Co., (Assignees of Froelich, C. H.). Feb. 26, 1924, [Convention date]. Built-up.-The gun barrel 11 of a dismountable gun is connected with the movable element 14 of the recoil brake by a single sliding movement effected from the front by means of interlocking guides, and the barrel is retained in operative position with its projection 12 abutting against the projection 18 on the recoil brake by a bolt 20 rotatably mounted on the brake and having interrupted helical teeth 21 for engagement with corresponding teeth on the projection 12. The rear part of the bolt has screw-threaded engagement with the projection 18 and is furnished with an operating arm retained by a spring stop. Specification 230,776, [Class 92 (i), Ordinance &c. mountings], is referred to.
