Abstract
331,037. Rheinische Metallwaarenund Maschinenfabrik. Nov. 15, 1928, [Convention date]. Breech actions, sliding barrel and breech-block; stocks.-A firearm has a readily detachable stock which forms the closing device for the breech casing and which comprises a guide for the breech-bolt as it recoils after firing. The stock h, Fig. 1, of a firearm is connected to the breech casing a by an interuppted-screw h<2>, a<1>, and is locked thereto by means of a locking device h<3> operated by a thumb-piece h<4>. Within the stock is a liner h<5> which forms a rear guiding member for the breech-bolt g. In its rearward position, the bolt g is held against the action of a spring i by a detent k which is released by a rod l connected to the trigger b. In its forward position, circumferential ribs g<1> on the bolt engage in grooves n<1> of a tubular block n, which is rotat ably connected with a sleeve m fixed to the barrel but longitudinally displaceable within the casing a. Studs n<2> of the block n engage with a spiral groove a<2> in the casing. On firing, the parts m, n recoil, and the latter is rotated by the engagement of the studs n<2> and groove a<2>, and the bolt g is released.
