I In autbmatic firearms, in which the breech pieceis movable in the axial direction and in which the stock is, applied to the shoulder of the firer, it is important that the Weapon,
besides having a convenient external form, should be also protected against theentrance bf foreign bodies intothe internal parts dis-- placed on firing; In order to shorten the length, it has been previously proposed to make the stock hollow and to constitute the rear guiding member of the ,recoiling breech piece. 7
Such apparatus, in addition to satisfactory sealing of the internal parts, should also be provided with means for ensuringeasy accessto the parts of the Weapon to be protected, more especially the parts of the breech, in order to clean and exchange parts that have become worn, in case of obstructions on firing and to exchange the barrel.
The invention obtains these results, without introducing any upwardly hinged portions-of the wall of the casing which would make the weapon cumbrous, by connecting the stock, forming one part of and the rear closing member of the breech casing, with or without the guide for the breech piece, so that it can at any time be easily disconnected from the other parts of the casing containing the trigger, the breech sleeve and the barrel and after removing the stock the casing can be opened at the-rear end and the parts contained therein be easily accessible and removable.
