Abstract

176,224. Fullerton, Hodgart, & Barclay, Ltd., and McGregor, W. Jan. 29, 1921. Multiple-acting piston pumps; clearance, reducing; plungers; valves, arrangement of; valves, facilitating removal of; suction and delivery reservoirs.-A pump, suitable for use in mines, comprises a cylinder a tapered at the end and provided in the tapered part with two opposite apertures b, c for the valve seats. The suction valve e draws from a chamber f and the delivery valve d delivers into a chamber g. The chambers f, g have holes i closed by a removable door to facilitate access to the valves. The plunger l is tapered to fit the cylinder and reduce clearance. Several cylinders may be combined with the chambers f, g, and the holes i corresponding to each set of valves may be closed by a single door or each set may have a separate door.
