Abstract

174,184. Marks, E. C. R., (Cameron Steam Pump Works, A. S.). Oct. 19, 1920. Impeller blades; helico-centrifugal apparatus.- The ends 8 of the vanes of an impeller project into the intake to a point at which the flow is parallel to the axis. At this part the vane is in the form of a helicoid and it changes gradually to a warped surface and finally terminates in a plane parallel to the axis of the impeller at the discharge end. The impeller shown in Fig. 3 is of the single inlet type but the form of blade is applicable also to double-inlet impellers.
