Abstract

Rotary boilers; combined with turbines. - A steam-generator 4 for a turbine 12 is arranged to rotate with the turbine at the same speed or at a reduced speed. Water is fed by a pump 15 to the generator through the hollow turbine shaft 8, and flows successively through the concentric rings of inclined tubes 4a, 4b by way of chambers in the discs 1, 2 supporting the tubes, the steam finally discharging through ports 28 into the passage 29. The generator may be fired by oil fuel, gas, &c., and when oil fuel is used, it is sprayed against a refractory cup x. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 24113/97, 5178/08, and 142,515, (Class 110 (iii), Turbines &c.].
