Abstract
159,427. Henry, F. B. April 6, 1920. Circular-flow type. - The motive fluid flows round a series of zig-zag passages 13 carried by a drum 14. These passages are arranged in concentric sets, and both their lateral walls 12 and circular walls 15 are of zig-zag form. The motive fluid is admitted to the first two sets of passages by ports 19, 20, and from these sets it flows to an expansion chamber 7 which discharges into the third set through a port 21, after passing round which the fluid is admitted by a port 23 to the fourth set, and so on to the exhaust chamber 10, which discharges through a nozzle 24 into the narrow end of a conical chamber 26 fitted with spiral walls 27 to conduct the fluid to the atmosphere at the wider end of the cone.
