448,326. Forced - flow steam boilers. BORSIG MASCHINENBAU AKT.-GES., A., Tegel, Berlin. Jan. 16, 1936, Nos. 1484, 1485, and 1486. Convention dates, Jan. 19, 1935, April 15, 1935, and April 18, 1935. [Class 123 (ii)] [See also Group XXVI] Steam for supply to a turbine is generated in heated stationary tubes 17, Fig. 1, communicating with a chamber containing a wheel 12 secured to an extension 6 of the turbine shaft and formed on one side with vanes 10 which force feed water into the generator tubes and on the other side with vanes 25 which separate water from the steam delivered by the tubes. The steam after expansion passes through superheating tubes 40. Two wheels 12<1>, 12<11>, Fig. 2, with vanes are so mounted on the turbine shaft (i as to form an intermediate chamber 9 into which bled steam is led through the shaft to heat the feedwater. The heating steam flows into the feed supply compartment 10 through ports 11 in the wheel 12<1>. Steam passes from the separating compartment 25 into superheating tubes 23 and then to a supply tube 7 in the shaft 6. In a modification, the feedwater is raised in pressure in two stages. In another modification, the feedwater pump chamber is arranged between two wheels and separating chambers are arranged at the sides of the wheels.
