Abstract
172,455. Campbell, W. M., and Smith, M. S. Sept. 28, 1920. Steam supply valves, arrangements of.-The passage of steam from the steam space of a locomotive to the distributing-valve 14 in the cab is controlled by a valve 20 operated by a handle 23 outside the boiler and seating against a partition 18 in a box 15 through which the steam passes. The box is secured against a side of the dome or the top of the boiler shell. A pipe 16<1> places the box in communication with the upper part of the dome, and a pipe 13 conducts the steam from the box to the distributing-valve.
