Axles and axle structures.-Change-speed gearing is enclosed in the rear-axle casing with the bevel pinion 10, which drives the bevel wheel 21 en the axle, situated behind the centre of the axle. One road wheel only is driven, this wheel being fixed on the axle 20. The axle casing comprises two main parts 16, 17 together with a cover 15 having its joint in the plane of the axis of the countershaft 14 of the gear.
