Inking-apparatus.-In inking-apparatus comprising an inking-drum 4 running at the surface speed of a printing-couple 1, 2, and a slaw-running fountain roller 12, a free-running intermediate roller 13 is provided, and ink is tranferred from the fountain roller to the intermediate roller and thence to the inking-drum by means of messenger rollers 15, 16 respectively. The arrangement prevents the fountain roller from being disturbed by direct contact with a messenger-roller running at a high speed.
