168,127. Nasmyth, Wilson, & Co., Ltd., and Manson, D. May 19, 1920. Draught inducers.-A valve 6 controlling the supply of steam to the pipe 9 leading to the blower-jet in the smoke-box is opened when the steam regulator is closed. This is effected by an arm 13 on a spindle 14 connected with the regulator by a link which is adjustable in length so as to allow of adjusting the exact point at which the blower is started. The supply of steam to the chamber 4 above the valve 6 is under control of a hand-operated valve (not shown). The valve 6 has a conical extension 16 below its seating so as to afford a gradual opening. Alternatively the connection between the regulator and the valve 6 may be a positive one.
