Abstract

166,932. Thomas, J. V. March 24, 1920. Drawings to Specification. Four-stroke-cycle engines.-In engines having pairs of pistons moving simultaneously towards and away from the crank-shaft and compressing mixture in the crank case, the mixture being delivered to the cylinders alternately, the whole of each charge passes through a non-return valve in the piston head of the cylinder on the induction stroke. The exhaust passes through a valve in the cylinder head. The pistons and cylinders may be of two diameters.
