Abstract
166,017. Lanchester, F. W. May 20, 1920. Motor-cars and the like.-Comprises a threewheeled light vehicle in which the engine S drives a pair of drums B on the rear axle A through friction rollers D, the weight of the rear part of the vehicle being transmitted to the axle by means of the driving rollers acting in conjunction with idle rollers E. The idle rollers are flanged to take up side thrusts. Springs G assist in keeping the rollers and drums engaged. The engine may be a single-cylinder engine, or a twostroke-cycle four-cylinder engine may be employed, the petrol tank and silencer being arranged transversely of the vehicle to the rear of the engine.
