Abstract

252,058. Rushton, G. Feb. 11. 1925. Driving auxiliary parts.-A frame carrying a winch adapted to be driven from the engine of a motor vehicle or tractor is arranged to extend between the axles or axle structure and to be secured thereto. As shown applied to a Fordson tractor the frame 22, 23 carrying shafts 10, 11, 12 is secured at its rear end to the rear axle casing 24 by U-bolts 26, and is formed at its front end with a depending bracket 19 secured by a bolt 21 to a transverse spring 20 forming part of the front axle structure. The bolt 21 may also form the connection between the engine and the spring 20. The ordinary engine-driven pulley 27 on the tractor drives the shaft 10 through a belt 28, and this shaft drives the hauling drum 17 either direct or through one or more intermediate reducing-train shafts 11. The tractor may be anchored during hauling operations by means of U-bolts 29 on the frame which may be secured by ropes or chains to any fixture.
