Vehicle fittings and attachments.-Relates to the type of rick-shifting vehicle in which the winding drums for hauling the rick on to the vehicle are driven from the road wheels or axle. A wheeled loading platform 15 is backed under the rick, as shown, and the vehicle platform is then tipped until the rollers 13 rest upon the ground. Ropes from drums on the shaft 2 are then put round the rick, and on hauling-in these ropes by driving the vehicle forward, the platform 15 is drawn on to the vehicle. The drumshaft 2 is driven from the road wheels or axle by chain and sprocket gearing through a clutch on the countershaft 3 which is disengaged by the tipping of the vehicle platform when the load is on the vehicle. The clutch is normally kept engaged by a spring, but can be looked in the disengaged position. When the clutch is disengaged, the drums can be turned by hand.
