Abstract

164,125. Smith, M. M. March 2, 1920. Building-blocks are formed of two thicknesses of concrete A, B, with a sheet of waterproof material C interposed during the casting operation, metal ties passing through the waterproofing to hold the block together. The ties may comprise screw-bolts D<1>, Fig. 2 or Z-bar connections Figs. 1 and 4, the waterproofing sheets in this case being.laid in sections with overlapping joints, and the metal ties passing through the joints. The front and rear blocks may be staggered at top and bottom to provide overlapping joints of the waterproofing, and the sides of the blocks may be recessed and bevelled so as to allow the lateral edges of the waterproofing to overlap.
