Abstract
546,701. Walls. TATE, A., and ROSE, N. R. March 1, 1941, No. 2781. [Class 20 (iv)] The joints between concrete slabs are sealed by strips 11 which are not embedded in the concrete, but are clamped thereto by bolts 8 or the like, sealing material 10 being interposed. Bars 13 may also be clamped to the strips by the boltheads. The strips are preferably corrugated at one or more places to allow for expansion and may be flat to lie on the slab-end surfaces or channelled to rest in channelled ends in the slabs. The channelled strip may have flanges turned over and bolted to the top surfaces of the slabs by additional bolts at right angles to the bolts 8. Slots 5 on the slab surface receive the bolt shanks; the heads, together with washers 9, are received into deeper slots 6. Members 28, Fig. 14, are placed in the moulds for forming the slab recesses 5, 6.
