Abstract

563,673. Walls; coverings. PANTON, J. W. April 9, 1943, No. 5716. [Class 20 (iv)] Precast facing slabs 13 are secured to a foundation wall, framework, &c. 10 by nails, screws, &c. 17 which are driven into bearer members 11 located in parallel relation to the wall so that their heads 18 bed upon opposed flanges 14 formed on the slabs. Preferably, each of the nails disposed between adjoining rows of slabs has its head overlying the flanges of upper and lower slabs, which are enabled to abut by notching the flanges at 16 to accommodate the nails. The sides of the slabs mav also be provided with flanges 15, and the spaces formed by the flanges 14, 15 and the raised body portions of adjacent slabs fitted with mortar &c. so as to cover the nail heads.
