Abstract

549,659. Building slabs. ROWSE, A. G. Sept. 22, 1941, No. 12207. [Class 87 (i)] A concrete &c. building slab 1 is formed with grooves 7 in the top and bottom edges forming a horizontal channel in which a reinforcing rod 8 is grouted and at the side edges with marginal flanges 2, 21 having pairs of grooves 3, 4, 31, 41 forming vertical channels in one of which a vertical reinforcing rod 5 is grouted, the other channel 6 forming an air cavity; the air space 9 between the marginal flanges 2, 21 is enclosed by an internal board or slab 10 which may be formed in one with the flanges or tied to the slab 1 by the rods 11. The bottom and top edges of the flanges may have interengaging beads and recesses.
