Abstract

626,355. Building slabs; wall ties. WEATHERHEAD, W., and WEATHERHEAD, J. Dec. 19, 1946, No. 36762. [Classes 20(iv) and 87(i)] A building slab comprising two portions relatively staggered to form rabbets 2, 3 on all four edges is provided with projecting wire loops 4 on its rear face to receive U-shaped concrete or clay wall ties 5 having tapered legs. A corner slab is provided with a short right-angled extension at one end. In a single wall structure, the space between opposed slabs may be filled with concrete, while in a double wall structure, the two outer spaces may be filled with concrete and the centre one left empty. Specifications 452,983 and 591,494 are referred to.
