554,265. Walls and partitions. HITCHINS, W. G. Oct. 22, 1941, No. 14786/42. Divided out of 554,271. [Classes 20 (iii), 20 (iv) and 87 (i)] A wall or partition consists of hollow slabs A between vertical posts b, each slab comprising an asbestos cement sheet C and a plaster board sheet D connected by grooved timber members E. Dowel rods G are housed in the grooves and are sprung into holes F in the posts. The joint between slab and post is covered bv a fillet J. The internal partitions consist of plaster board sheets K separated by grooved timber members E and stiffened by rings L made from waste wood veneer. The members E may be grooved on all four edges of the sheet so that vertical dowel rods can be used between the members E and door frames or posts. The outer walls consist of asbestos cement sheets 25 held in timber frames 26, and clamped between vertical posts of the building frame and intermediate vertical members 27 of asbestos cement by means of horizontal rods 28 passing through the posts: The inner wall surface is formed by slabs having sheets 32 of plaster board covered by wood veneer 35, mounted on grooved frames 33. Dowel rods G pass through vertical timber battens 30 secured to the frames 26.
