Abstract

160,232. Nayler, T. A. Dec. 9, 1919. Spray carburettors wherein the choke tube is controlled simultaneously with the fuel, have the choke tube formed of a fixed plug or piston f and a movable piston h carried on a tube t moved by a lever p. The fuel is supplied from the float chamber d through the filter k, piston f, and a tube i to an inclined slot l in the tube, which is surrounded by a second tube n with an orifice m. The tube n slides in the same direction as the piston h, and is moved therewith by a link r adjustably connected to the lever p. The tube n may be rotated independently of the piston by a micrometer adjustment in order to vary the relative position of the inclined slot l and orifice m. The slot may be enlarged at one end to give a large jet at starting. The throttle valve is also controlled with the choke tube and fuel nozzle.
