Abstract

147,475. Mõdler, F. L. May 20, 1919, [Convention date]. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel; vaporizers, external.-In engines using heavy fuel the quantity of fuel used is proportioned according to its quality to the quantity of main air entering the cylinder. Means for doing this is shown diagrammatically, the main air valve 5 being connected to an adjustable sleeve 2 on a lever 1 connected to a valve of the fuel pump 3. The fuel is vaporized in the injection nozzle 8 which projects into the combustion chamber through a distance adjustable by a washer 9 to vary the heating required. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), there is described and illustrated an external vaporizer which projects for adjustable distances into the exhaust pipe, and a fuel nozzle with helical delivery passages. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
