Abstract

154,414. Norris, H. Kent-, and Plenty & Son. Oct. 25, 1919. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-- Fuel is supplied by a pump to a nozzle f at starting and issuing therefrom impinges upon some form of igniter j. On closing the valve 7 the only escape for the fuel is through the heavily loaded valve v in the main nozzle d. The valve v is surrounded by a closely fitting casing 3 grooved for the passage of the fuel on its outside longitudinally, and on its end, which is pressed by a spring against the valve seating, radially. A valve 9 allows air to be expelled from the system to avoid an air lock. The spherical chamber c has a liner q separated from it by a space s and supported by a flange r.
