Abstract
160,109. Sim, T. June 23, 1920. Combined piston and bucket pumps; delivery pipes; suction reservoirs.-Consists in providing pumps of the combined piston and bucket type with suction reservoirs. The pump shown in Fig. 2 is secured to a receptacle 9. In has inlets 4 and a non-return valve 5 secured by a grating 10. The bucket 2 has a non-return valve 7 protected by a grating 15, and the piston-rod is tubular and has an opening 11 at the lower end and communicates through the handle with a delivery pipe 13. Fig. 4 shows a pump adapted for window cleaning &c., in which the upper end of the piston-rod is provided with squeegees 16, a sponge &c. Fig. 5 shows a modification in which the inlet valve is fitted in a trap 17, and a delivery chamber 19 is fitted. Fig. 7 shows a further modification with a delivery chamber 19 and a delivery pipe 30 for the lower end of the pump. In a further modification, two pumps are fitted in a single receptacle and are actuated by a T-shaped rocking lever.
