Magneto - electric machines.-A field magnet for magneto-electric machines consists of a permanent magnet a having the shape of an interrupted ring and pole-pieces b, c connected to the extremities by bridges d, e, which are peripherally shorter than the pole-pieces, the parts being concentric throughout and secured by common fastening - elements. The magnet a, as shown, is formed in parts a<2>, a<3>, but may also consist of one or several parts. The pole-pieces and the bridges may have a width inferior to the total width of the magnet a.
