Abstract

[Class 35.] A magneto with a coil carrying a polar projection 4 extending from an' annular laminated stator 3 has a rotary magnet of rectangular section with rounded ends, and the endplates 5 are held spaced 'from the stator laminae by studs 7 which also serve to clamp the laminµ. In the form shown, the permanent magnet consists of two rectangular blocks 2 with ends curved to correspond to the pole-extension 4 which carries a coil 6 supported by a pin 11 which can be adjusted by screws 12 and may serve as a magnetic shunt, the end-brackets 5 also being of magnetic material The studs 7 which are symmetrically spaced carry spacing collars 9, and two of them are insulated and provided with additional nuts to serve as, terminals.
