Abstract
1,005,766. A. C. motors. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. Nov. 29, 1961 [Dec. 8, 1960], No. 42657/61. Heading H2A. In an A.C. motor comprising a cylindrical ferromagnetic rotor 8 and a stator which has a pole ring with two pairs of polepieces 30, 40 and a yoke frame 6, 7, which carries an exciting coil 5 to produce a 1-Ph. magnetic flux # and is connected to the ring at two opposite points in the regions of two oppositely disposed pole pieces 30, the stator forms with the rotor a magnetic bridge-star circuit comprising frame branches formed by pole ring segments 10, 20 one between each pair of adjacent polepieces 30, 40 and star branches formed by the polepieces 30, 40 and the rotor 8; the arrangement is such that two star branches in the region where the yoke frame is connected and two oppositely disposed frame branches both have magnetic resistance and reactance, whilst the other two star and frame branches both have only magnetic resistance, whereby the magnetic fluxes # 3 and 94 passing through the two pairs of polepieces 30, 40 are equal and in quadrature. The reactances are formed by short-circuiting rings 21, 31 and the yoke frame 6, 7 lies in a plane either through the rotor axis or, Fig. 5, not shown, at right angles thereto. The flux distributing may be adjusted by ring segment notches 12, 22 or holes or non-magnetic inserts. The rotor 8 may be of the induction motor type, or polarized, or of a discoidal hysteresis type.
