Inductor machines. - In magneto-electric machines of the kind comprising a fixed armature 17 through the core 13 of which magnetic flux is oscillated by two inductors 1, 2 mounted on a shaft 5 so as to rotate between the poles of the permanent magnets 9, the inductors are mounted directly on the non-magnetic shaft 5 and rotate in a partly enclosed cylindrical space formed by the pole-pieces 11, 12 of the permanent magnet and the turned-down ends 14, 15 of the armature core, each of the pole-pieces 11, 12 being arranged so as to be bisected by the horizontal plane through the axis of the shaft 5, and the ends of the armature core embracing the upper parts of the peripheries of the inductors. The pole-pieces 11, 12 may occupy only a, narrow central position to co-operate with overlapping ends 3, 4 of the inductors, as shown in Figs. 10 and 11, or the pole-pieces may extend across the permanent magnets to co-operate with inductors of the shape shown in Figs. 13 and 15. In the construction shown in Fig. 11, the ends 3, 4 of the inductors are set in laminated rings 38, 39. Rotatably adjustable segments 36, 37, Fig. 10, are provided in known manner for regulating the spark intensity.
