Vaporizers, external.-The parent Specification describes a carburettor which supplies a heated mixture of atmospheric air charged with heavy oils admitted through a sprayer and of steam partly dissociated by contact with heated carbon which produces carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, free hydrogen, and other gases in the nascent state. The invention consists in replacing the carbon by any reducing body, simple or compound, metallic or non-metallic, which is capable of decomposing water at temperatures 'below 1000‹ C. with the release of hydrogen or a combustible hydrogenated compound. Iron is mentioned as being a suitable substance.
