Abstract

156,107. United States Ordnance Co., (Assignees of Green, S. G.). July 2, 1919, [Convention date]. Adapting for blank-ammunition.-A rifle magazine is rendered incapable of taking any but blank cartridges by fitting into it a strip 3 to shorten its length. The strip is bent as at 7 to engage the bottom of the magazine, and is also bent into a U-shape at the top. The pressed-in part 9 between two parallel slots 8 in the forward wall of the magazine forms an attachment for the shorter arm 10 of the strip. The longer arm 3 passes through the forward loops of the follower spring 4, and through a slot 6 in the follower 5, which enables the follower to slide freely.
