Abstract

155,786. Thirion, J. A. Sept. 21, 1918, [Convention date]. Fixed-abutment type; discharge and suction passages.-In a rotary pump of the axially-sliding vane type, shown in development in Fig. 1, the liquid being pumped is drawn by the vanes b through an inlet h into one portion of an annular chamber m, Fig. 2, and thence through side chambers g and ports e<2>, f<2> into the spaces formed between the vanes b on opposite sides of the rotor a. Discharge takes place through ports e<3>, f<3> and side chambers i into the other portion of the chamber m communicating with the outlet j, the two portions of said chamber being separated by two partitions w. The vanes b are displaced axially in the rotor slots by cam-surfaces p, p<1> engaging rollers b<1>, b<2> on the vanes.
