Abstract

443,134. Rotary pumps. KLEIN, W., 21, Kirchstrasse, Beyenburg, Wuppertal, Germany. July 18, 1935, No. 20505. [Class 110 (ii)] The pump comprises a rotor 2, of rubber or other flexible material, mounted eccentrically upon a driving shaft 5, and having separate chambers 4 to convey fluid from an inlet 9 to a delivery port 10. The rotor is mounted in a sleeve 12, and is strengthened by metal inserts 11. In a modification the part 2 is stationary, and an eccentric portion of the shaft 5 is surrounded by a sleeve which gyrates to cause the contraction and enlargement of the chambers 4. In this case each chamber has an inlet and an outlet valve, each communicating with an annular chamber in the casing. The eccentricity of the driving portion of the shaft' may be variable.
