Abstract

Cylinders receiving liquid fuel.-The fuel is given a whirling motion before leaving the nozzle in order that it mav issue in a flat cone by making a cavity in the nozzle to which the fuel is admitted through tangential ports 7. Or a helical passage may be formed between two cones 9, 10, Fig. 6. The axis of the fuel valve 1 may be co-axial with or at right angles to that of the nozzle, and the nozzle may be inclined to the axis of the engine cylinder and have the orifice 6 at one side.
