Abstract
1533975 Disinfecting lavatory seats R McNALLY 18 Dec 1975 [19 Dec 1974] 54968/74 Addition to 1340075 Heading E1C A hollow lavatory seat whose upper surface has ducts or pores 3 leading to an internal cavity 2 for liquid disinfectant and/or deodorant from a reservoir as in the parent specification incorporates at its rear end. adjacent the pivot 24, a chamber 14 for a disposable container 15, the chamber having at one end a probe 6 for piercing a membrane 21 of the container and at the other end a finger 19 which can be turned about a vertical axis by a spanner to urge the container towards the probe. The chamber 14 has a hinged bottom flap 16 locked by a catch 20 movable with the finger 19. The container is located by upper and lower pairs of inclined ribs 17, 18 and its neck engages a seal in a wall 10. Liquid runs into a reservoir 9 having (a) an outlet pipe 8 leading to the seat cavity and (b) an air bleed pipe 11 whose outlet 23 is obturated by the liquid in cavity 2. Thus in cavity 2 a low liquid level 22 is maintained, as in the parent Specification.
