710,796. Disinfecting apparatus for water-waste preventers. GOUDZWAARD; J. P. VAN., and TAN, (nee HOFFMAN), H. M. Jan. 30, 1952 [Jan. 31, 1951], No. 2562/52. Class 26 A device for dispensing a small quantity of detergent or disinfectant to a water-waste-preventing cistern at each operation thereof comprises a container for use in the cistern having a chamber separated from it by a partition with a single narrow opening and serving to collect air and admit it to the container, the crosssectioned area of the chamber being considerably less than that of the container. As shown, the air chamber is formed in that part of the cap 3 of a bottle 1 which lies between holes 6 in its circumference and the partition 4, and a float 9 acts as a stopper to prevent diffusion of the liquid when the cistern remains unused for long periods. The bottle may be suspended in the cistern, or rest on its lower end, which has recesses 7 cut in it. In alternative forms, the partition is formed inside the neck of the bottle, or a rectangular metal container may be used and suspended by hooks across the cistern.
