Abstract

1462201 Liquid dispensing W BRAUN CO 21 Jan 1974 02696/74 Heading B8T [Also in Division E1] A device for automatically dispensing a quantity of disinfectant solution into a flush tank of a toilet comprises a liquid dispenser itself comprising a bottle with a threaded neck 16 which houses a liquid metering and dispensing device 22 having an annular wall 24 and an end wall 26 which has an axial opening 34 formed by an outwardly extending tubular member 30. The neck 16 is threaded to accommodate a screw cap in transit. In operation the bottle 14 is mounted so that its neck 16 and part of its body are below the maximum water level. Air is thereby trapped in chamber 41. As the bottle is lowered to this position some air is forced through the axial opening 34 into the space above the disinfectant so that when the water is flushed excess pressure in the space will force drops to be emitted from the opening 34. The process repeats when the water fills the tank and is then flushed again.
