Abstract
672,443. Water tank disinfecting apparatus. EVANS, W. C. Oct. 10, 1950 [May 9, 1950], No. 11469/50. Class 81 (i). [Also in Groups I and XVIII] A disinfecting apparatus for water tanks which are periodically discharged and refilled comprises a closed container for liquid disinfectant, having a detachable filling cap 5 (Fig. 1) with a hole 6 through it and slightly dished as at 7 on the outside face. An inclined tube 10 passes through a side wall of the container, the upper end of the tube being parallel with and above the level of the top face of the container due to the provision of a hollow projection 8 on the top of the container. The container is placed on the bottom of the tank and water as it rises in the tank passes up the inclined tube 10 to fill the hollow projection 8, thereupon forcing a quantity of disinfectant from the container through the hollow filler 5 into the dished top 7 to be floated off in the surrounding water.
