Abstract

834,149. Floor cleaning apparatus. FILLERY, G. T. Oct. 8, 1958 [Jan. 9, 1958], No. 951/58. Class 138(1). A floor scrubbing machine, having a motor for driving a floor scrubbing implement mounted centrally over the implement, is provided with a tank for supplying liquid to the floor for the scrubbing operation, the tank being mounted on the motor casing directly above the motor so that the weight of the motor and the tank and its contents is applied centrally of the scrubbing implement to give an even pressure of the implement on the floor. A liquid container 15 of upwardly conical shape has a depending skirt 16 which rests on the casing 5 of motor 6. The tank is attached by a nose 19 attached to the skirt and which engages under a projection 10 of the casing and by bolt 20 which passes through the rear of the skirt to engage the rear upright face 9 of the casing. The container is filled through a tapered filling duct leading to the lower part of the tank having an open upper end adjacent the closed upper end of the container. Liquid is delivered to the floor through a tube from the tank having a valve to regulate the flow and terminating in a nozzle secured to the casing near the floor.
