Abstract

623,087. Stoppers. HORTON MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd., HALL, F. J. S., and RILEY, W. J. Feb. 22, 1946, No. 5615. [Class 125(iii)] [Also in Group XVIII] A stopper for a liquid soap container 1 used in a soap dispensing installation for a lavatory &c. (see Group XVIII), comprises a flanged hollow plug 2 externally threaded to screw into the wall of the container and fitted at the end within the container with a displaceable plug, a spring-loaded valve or, as shown, a disruptible capsule, e.g. a thin metal disc 6 soldered to the plug. The plug is internally threaded to receive a member 10 in the bore of which is slidably and fluidtightly fitted a hollow " unsealing " member 13 connected to the dispensing installation and as shown provided with a point so that after coupling the member 10 to the plug 2 this " unsealing " member may be driven through the member 10 to disrupt the capsule 6 or displace the plug or valve to allow the contents of the receptacle to flow, via ports 14 in the member 13, to the soap dispensers. This construction enables an empty container 1 to be readily replaced by a full one, the member 13 being withdrawn in the member 10 before the new connection is made.
