Abstract

790,140. Dispensing liquids. GASKELL & CHAMBERS, Ltd. June 19, 1956 [Aug. 2, 1955], No. 22123/55. Class 116 To prevent frothing, a liquid containing dissolved gas is delivered through a body 5 formed with a diverging bore 5b containing a tapered plug 6 which is pressed against an abutment 8. The abutment may be fixed to the body 5 but, in the construction illustrated, is formed by a cam controlled by a knob 11 so that the passage between. the plug and the bore 5b can be adjusted. In an alternative construction the abutment is formed by a portion of the closure member 13 of the delivery tap. The taper of the plug 6 is preferably less than that of the bore 5b.
