Disinfectant liquids and solids, delivering.-In disinfecting-apparatus for the cisterns of water closets &c. of the type comprising a receptacle having orifices at the top and bottom and a disinfecting-member near the bottom orifice, the disinfecting-member consists of an impregnated pad j, Fig. 1, lying on a perforated bottom g. The vessal a which contains a solid or thick fluid disinfectant is supported from the wall of the cistern by a slidable hook m so that the water level is just below the top of the flange f. The cotton pad j becomes saturated with water which thins the disinfectant and allows a little to pass at each flush. In a modification, Fig. 3, a pad 11 is secured between the neck 4 and a screw-cap 5. The apparatus, is made ready for use by cutting the cover 10 of the aperture 9 and the other end 3 is pierced by means of a tack 13 on the strip 12. The strip is then bent to form a supporting hook for the receptacle. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 208,738, [Class 66, Hollow-ware].
