Abstract

A disinfectant dispenser for lavatory cisterns comprises a container filled with a liquid disinfectant having a density less than water and an apterured member providing communication between the contents and the surroundings. The apertured member is disposed so that it is below the water level in the cistern at least when the cistern is filled and has a shield extending outwardly and upwardly from directly beneath and at least partly across the aperture whereby pressure variations in the container due to fluctuations in the cistern water level cause dispensation of disinfectant and entry into the container of water through the aperture.
