Abstract

[Also in Division A5] A dispenser of disinfectant and the like for use in flushing cisterns comprises an outer vessel 1 having one or more openings 14 in its top and a delivery tube 11 tightly but slidably held in its base. Within the outer vessel is a second, inner vessel (7) which, in the embodiment described, is an inverted bottle with one or more holes in its stopper (see Fig. 1 not shown) and a partition 5 with an opening 6 at or near its base. In operation, water fills the device when it is immersed in a filled cistern and the contents of the inner vessel (either a viscous liquid or slowly soluble solid disinfectant or the like) mix with it. When the cistern flushes, the liquid in the outer vessel which is above the top end 13 of the tube 11 flows out into the cistern and the cycle is repeated. Variation of the height of the tube end 13 above the base of the outer vessel varies the quantity of liquid dispensed.
